Would Watchtower Actually Murder Members Who Question the F&DS If They Could?
by Sea Breeze inimagine if the watchtower had their own country where they could do what they wanted.
do you think they would actually kill people who disagreed with them?
would the elders be willing to carry out the executions?what say you?.

@Touchof Grey - Religions, like governments, and organizatioins don't "do" anything. They are not animate beings. The people who make up such collaborations are the ones who "do" things.
It is the evil inherent in human nature that is the problem. Christ asks his collaborators to love their enemies, make peace whenever possible, use government for protection of the people (mainly military and police) , temper justice with mercy, and to do to others as you would have them do to you. Most of the freedoms we enjoy today in the West are a direct result of Christian culture and values. I am very thankful for that.
But, Watchtower doesn't really adhere to NT Christianity. They are not 'fundamentally" Christian. They cherrypick and misapply OT LAW to create a very rigid social system.
My question is whether or not people think that the elders would actually carry out real executions if asked to do so by the Governing Body if they could get away with.... like if they had their own country.Personally, I think there is no doubt they would just like every Godless Totalitarian Leader that atheists have supported. Atheists killed hundreds of millions in the 20th century with their fundamental adherence to evolutionary tenets and comunist/fascist values. They basically exchanged what they viewed as "opiate of the masses" for poison for the masses. You have swallowed the Atheist/Watchtower lie about "religions".
Here is Watchtower's attitude on the matter according to the Insight Book:
The judicial excommunication, or disfellowshipping, of delinquents from membership and association in a community or organization. With religious societies it is a principle and a right inherent in them and is analogous to the powers of capital punishment, banishment, and exclusion from membership that are exercised by political and municipal bodies. In the congregation of God it is exercised to maintain the purity of the organization doctrinally and morally. The exercise of this power is necessary to the continued existence of the organization and particularly so the Christian congregation. The congregation must remain clean and maintain God’s favor in order to be used by him and to represent him. - Insight Book
They pretty much say here that expelling people is equivelent to execution, and that it is their "right" to administer "Capital Punishment". We all know that if ANY JW went around saying that Jesus was their personal Savior and invited others to allow Jesus in to their heart, they would be disfellowshipped faster than WT could collect cash from a KH sale to a Hare Krishna group.
From their own writings, I think it is reasonable to conclude that they would actually execute members if for example, they named Jesus as their personal Savior.
Let that sink in for a moment.
Diogenesister - the well known fantasy story written by an exjw - set after "Armageddon".
Haven't read that. Sounds very eye-opening though. Let me know if you can remember the name.

There are far more sisters cleaning houses to help their low earning husbands make ends meet. This would have been a better picture and title.

My Prediction Regarding New Space Telescope That Will See Back to 100 Million Years From the Big Bang
by Sea Breeze ina new space telescope launched a few days age that will supposedly be able to see to within 100 million years of the big bang.
wow... only 100 million years from the big bang.
that is pretty early given the 12 billion year age of the universe assigned by scholars who adhere to naturalism.

Here's an update from Astrophysicist Jason Lisle on the JWST and it is not looking good for Secularists. It devastates the Big Bang model..

For all it's flaws in the past, at least the basic theology appeared to have some sort of internal "logic" and integrity. Now it's just change and tinker about with whatever you want to, from year to year, even if it messes up other stuff in the doctrine.
@ Journeyman
Their "logic" was always nuts in my opinion....Like deceiving everyone to reject the New Covenant which is specifically for the "forgiveness of sins" and not government positions? (See Mt. 26: 27-28)
Participation in the NC is how a person gets born again, which Jesus 3 times told Nicodemas a person must do.
Or maybe the "logical" teaching that Jesus is an angel? Kinda hard to invite the spirit of the Lord into our heart if he is really only an angel.
if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. - Romans 8: 9
Whatever "logic" the WT may have, it only appeals to the flesh and guarantees condemnation.

"Slave" is confused about the start of judgment!

Romans 8 -
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
The judgement in 1 Peter 4: 17 is whether or not a person is born again and walking after the Spirit. It probably also includes the judgment of unbelievers on Jerusalem in 70 AD that Jesus famously predicted: "not a stone will be left on a stone" of the temple.
When the temple was burned the gold melted and the Roman soldiers pried the stones apart to get it in a rather dramatic fulfillment of his prophecy.
What is not meant (to the shame of Watchtower) is that Christians in the Church Age are under some sort of judgment. To the contrary, Christians are under Grace, not Law during the Church Age, if indeed they are born again. Professing Christians should check to make sure. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus - Romans 8: 1

Ages of each user here?
by ukpimo ini'm interested to know the age demographics here.
it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.

Reddit thread re Oct 2024 WT with picture of window washer - Theme knocking people who Planned
by LongHairGal inthis thread currently has over 300 comments.. it shows a picture of an older man washing a window looking wistfully… then it talks all about how some may have doubts about not having planned and the situation they are in now that they are older, etc.
it refers to others who did plan and who supposedly have ‘apparent’ financial security.
in my opinion, the whole gist of this article is to make older witnesses feel better who did not pursue a career or plan well for retirement.. it tries to imply that those others who planned only have ‘apparent’ financial security - which is to say they don’t (?).
-
Sea Breeze
And make it seem like those who did not plan for retirement are the elite and worthy ones.
Exactly. This is the WT's M.O. Fill people full of pride and self-grandizement and then hand them a turd and make them feel special, elite, and worthy for being chosen to receive it.
This is how they started, it is how they mobilized millions to distribute their literature, and how they got people to reject the free gift of salvation in exchange for a hectic meeting schedule and hour requirement.
Pride is some nasty stuff. It will take everything from you and turn you into a slave if you are not careful.
